Last day of school-3rd grade

Yesterday was the last day of 3rd grade. Check out the last day vs. the 1st day, right below. Graham said 3rd grade went by really fast. He loved his teacher and made some new friends this year. The highlight of 3rd grade for him was the Calico Ball. All 3rd graders in the district learn dances of the world, each class is assigned a different country. They learn about the culture, the food and they learn a dance which they perform at the high school auditorium for all the parents and families. HIs class' country was Spain.

In July he will play on an all-star baseball team for Beacon 7-8 year olds. They have a tournament the first weekend in July right before we go to Maine for a week. Go Beacon!

Peter Pan in Beacon

Its Come As Your Favorite Book Character Day at Graham's school. I made this Peter Pan costume for him. All the 3rd graders read Peter Pan this year and the high school put on an AMAZING production of the play this spring, including flying actors! Graham was inspired.

Dress up/dress down

Some little girls want to play with makeup. This is what happens when a boy gets himself done up. How do you like the six pack?

Thanksgiving

Better late than never! Here we are enjoying a beautiful Thanksgiving day in New York City. We went to see the parade, we played in Central Park, and we had dinner at a restaurant. No cooking! No cleaning! Leftovers! It was a great day

Piano recital

Graham's piano teacher held an informal recital today. He really nailed "When the Saints Go Marching In" which he has been woking on for quite some time.

3rd grade

Today was the first day of 3rd grade. The enthusiasm is palpable. Its the end of morning TV, swimming every day, mid-week sleepovers, staying up late, after dinner bike rides that end up at the ice-cream shop. OK, I'm a little sad too.

Goodman at the plate

Graham is on the Beacon All-Star team. They began their tournament on Saturday with a rainy double header. The weather did not say "summertime" but the boys played their hearts out.
