Pete Seeger

The big news in Beacon today-Pete Seeger has died. He lived in Beacon and did so much for our community, our river and for peace. For many years he came to Graham's elementary school and taught folk songs to 3rd graders. He stopped doing that a few years ago so Graham never had the chance to meet him. I would see him often at the post office picking up big bins of fan mail. He liked to talk about the WPA mural in the post office telling stories of its origins. He will be missed.
